About the Event

Peace, stabilization, and counter-insurgency operations are notoriously difficult to wargame due to their inherent political and social complexity. This webinar will identify some key considerations when designing or using such games in a professional military context.

What in it for me?

1. Develop your understanding of peace, stabilization, and counter-insurgency operations.

2. Better understand the strengths and weaknesses of commercial wargames in addressing such operations.

3. Learn how to design and facilitate wargames on this topic.

Guest speaker: Rex Brynen is Professor of Political Science at McGill University, and senior editor of PAXsims (www.paxsims.org). In addition to his academic research and teaching, he has worked as an intelligence analyst, a foreign policy analyst, and as a consultant on wargame design to the Canadian Department of National Defence, Dstl, NATO, and other agencies, NGOs, and international organizations.
